Canadian Brass

Take two trumpets, a French horn, a tuba and a trombone; introduce five talented Canadian musicians, and you get Canadian Brass. Currently in its 38th season, Canadian Brass consists of Chuck Daellenback, Gene Watts, Jeff Nelson, Joe Burgstaller and the newest edition, Manon Lafrance.

Rooted in classical, opera, jazz, pop and contemporary genres, they have the ability to entertain and educate with their clever arrangements and enthusiastic performances. What started as performances primarily for schoolchildren, quickly launched them to stardom, performing for audiences at Carnegie Hall, Roy Thompson Hall and numerous sold-out shows in England, Japan and China. Their vast catalogue includes more than 60 recordings covering seminal works by Purcell, Vivaldi, Gabrieli, Pachelbel and Beethoven.

Their unique style has opened creative doors for numerous other brass quintets and left a lasting mark on the world of classical music. They continue to be an important element in the vibrant and eclectic Canadian music scene and you can look for the sound of Canadian Brass to ring clear, loud and proud for many years to come.
