Curing Cancer

05/11/2015

In our society cancer awareness has become more and more prevalent, with events such as Pink October and Movember, preventative cancer screening and awareness is on the top of people’s minds.

In the history of ideacity we have had many bright minds on our stage discussing cancer treatment. Check out these next few talks and see how close our idealists have come to curing cancer.

In 2014 we were joined by scientist Andrew Hessel to discuss synthetic biology and the possiblility that we could 3D print medicine for cancer treatment. Watch this inspiring talk to learn how this new printing technology is fitting into the world of biology and health care.

Our next cancer researcher is wiz kid Jack Andraka who graced our stage in both 2013 and 2015. After the death of a close family friend from cancer, the already bight teen focused in on finding an effective and cost efficient way to early detect certian forms of cancer. Watch his most recent talk and learn where he is going.

Our final speakers are Jannette and Alan Murray who take an non-hard science approach to curing cancer. Diagnosed with breast cancer the couple decided to run a marathon a day for a year and convert to a strictly raw and vegan diet. Watch this talk and find out how you really are what you eat.

Although there is no true cure yet for cancer these and many of our other idealists are working hard at finding a cure within our lifetime and we cannot wait to see what new innovations they come up with!
