Douglas Coupland was born in 1961 on a Canadian Armed Forces base in Germany. He is a novelist with eight books in 28 languages. In recent years Coupland has been using his art school and industrial experiences to create both art installations and furniture, both of which are sold and exhibited globally. His nonfiction work, Souvenir of Canada, is being published on Canada Day 2002 by Douglas & McIntyre.
