ideacity 2014: Final Speaker Announcement!

The big week is finally upon us, and with less than 48 hours until ideacity 2014 (and the accompanying, free webcast) kick off, we’re ready to finally take in all that the conference has to offer! Last, but certainly not least, the presenters featured in this final speaker announcement have us waiting with bated breath for their remarkable stories and research. Whether exploring new ways combat disease, or leading is into the future of space travel, these speakers are helping to drive us into the future. And they’ll be taking the stage at Koerner Hall in just two days’ time!

Autodesk Distinguished Researcher Andrew Hessel is a catalyst in biological technologies, helping industry, academics, and authorities better understand the changes happening in life science. He is also the co-founder of the Pink Army Cooperative, the world’s first cooperative biotechnology company, which is aiming to make open source viral therapies for cancer. AISLIN is the name of Terry Mosher’s elder daughter, and the nom de plume he has used for over forty years as the political cartoonist for Montreal’s English-language newspaper, The Gazette. It has been said that “he obviously enjoys inventing a carve-up as much as we have come to savour the results”. He has had his work published in over 40 books, and his cartoons are syndicated in newspapers across Canada and around the world. In recognition of both his charitable work and his contribution to the world of political cartooning, Mosher was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2003, and his latest collection of cartoons is entitled Was It Good For You?
