Robert Lantos is an internationally recognized film and television producer. Beginning in 1977 with In Praise of Older Women, he has made over 40 films, including Istvan Szabo’s Sunshine, Denys Arcand’s Stardom, Atom Egoyan’s Felicia’s Journey and The Sweet Hereafter as well as David Cronenberg’s eXistenZ and Crash.
He was Chairman and CEO of Alliance Communications until the fall of 19998, when the company merged with Atlantis Communications. He now serves as chairman emeritus of Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc.
After the merger he formed his own production house, Serendipity Point Films, where he continues to produce films. Lanto’s television productions have won over 50 Gemini Awards, including awards for Best Drama Series for “Night Heat,” “E.N.G.” and “Due South.”
