Angèle Dubeau

Angèle Dubeau

Canadian violin virtuoso Angèle Dubeau has led a dazzling career in the great concert halls of the world. She is the only Canadian classical musician who has been awarded gold records and she has sold over 500,000 albums. She plays on the “Des Rosiers” 1733 Stradivarius violin.

Dubeau attended Raymond Dessaints’ class at the Montreal Conservatory of Music and became, at age 15, the youngest student ever to receive a first prize in violin. She then moved to New York to study with Dorothy Delay at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, and later to Romania to study with Stefan Gheorgiu.

Convinced of the need to introduce classical music to a wider audience, Dubeau has been a pioneer in programming and hosting gala concerts, weekly music television programs and music festivals. Whether standing alone, in front of an orchestra, or in the intimacy of  chamber repertoire with La Pietà, Angèle Dubeau continues to move us.
